Leading as an introvert (it's not what you think)

Hello Reader,

I'm currently editing a new book!

It's almost ready and you'll be the first to know when it launches (along with a discount code obviously).

While getting feedback from writers and designers whose opinions I hold dearly, Maureen asked:

"You mentioned you see yourself as an introvert - what does leading a team look like for you? How do you manage your energy levels, how does being an introvert help or not help you as a leader?"

While it's not quite what the book is about, I was fascinated by this question. I've always been interested in the psychology aspect of it all. So I sat down and wrote about my experiences leading teams of 20+ to leading a couple of remote consultants.

Turns out introversion isn't a leadership liability—it's just a different approach. In this post, I share the practical strategies I've developed:

  • Why "I don't know" became my most powerful leadership tool
  • The one question that transforms 1:1 conversations
  • How I manage energy without burning out
  • Why project-based meetings work better than department meetings

As always, hit reply and let me know what resonates.

I read every reply. Hope you're having a great day!
